It’s World Book Day today – 6 March 2025 and I guess a lot of mothers were stressed this morning as the children like to go to school dressed up as their favourite book characters.
I was asked if I had anything my grandson could wear and managed to produce a staggering number of outfits that my two boys have worn over the years. Below one used by my youngest son many years ago – guess the book series?

According to news reports reading is supposed to be less popular, but I honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a book on the go. I read whenever I can and my house is full of books. My husband is also a voracious reader but of totally different genres to me.
Books have been part of my life as long as I can remember and we used to have a family outing to the library every Saturday. I wrote my first novel at fourteen but wasn’t published myself until I was in my late fifties.
Enjoy world book day and your reading.
Here are a few of the author’s books you can look forward to being featured on this blog in the next few weeks …
