Strange Vibrations

One of the senses that intrigues me is the so called sixth sense, intuition or esp. This sense refers to that feeling that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck if you perceive danger in a street, or feel uneasy in a room, or perhaps when meeting someone new.

You may get an instinctive knowing that something is right, or conversely wrong. It might even make you want to take a different path from the crowd, to do something you know is right for you, even if everyone around you is telling you not to.

There are many examples of people taking a different route on a regular journey and later finding that there was an accident on the road they would normally have taken at the exact time they would have been passing the accident site.

Some call it gut feeling. Over the years I’ve learned to trust these instincts, or rather more often, to regret it if I ignore my internal warning signs.

This is an interesting sense to incorporate into my writing and you may guess that my characters are often tuned into their inner knowing.

Have you any examples of when you trusted or ignored your sixth sense?

  1. I get these feelings all the time! I think it’s my Reiki training that made me more open to sensing energy fluctuations, but it also means my gut instincts are normally spot on – I’ve just got to learn to listen to it sometimes šŸ™‚
